For the first time in 3 years after the Covid-19 interference, the O&L Ramblers Tournament has returned with a bang. 58 teams competed in 7 different age groups (U7-U19), which saw a total of 115 games take place over the weekend.
Ramblers U17 and U19 were the only 2 teams for our club that reached the finals of their respective age groups. After a hard battle in regulation time, nothing was able to separate the teams in both finals, so the both went to penalty shoot out. Unfortunately our U19s were unable to get the job done as the lost to Kasaona FA. Our U17s on the other hand were success against long term rivals SKW. The U17s, lead by the coaching trio (Coach Tiro, Coach Hafeni and Coach Mekondjo) were head above shoulders above the rest and were able to beat the likes of SKW,Swallows, ACFA and River-heights on their quest to retaining the title.
The U7s were in their own final as they lost 2-0 to SKW. “It was a great run and I am glad that we were able to play in the tournament again as the players are always excited to be part of football. We had only 6 players the entire tournament but we still pushed and eventually reached the final which is an achievement on it’s own.” said our u7 coach.
Our teams turn their focus back onto the league fixtures as the teams try to build momentum in their respective league title push.
