The 2008/2009 V.I.P. Club season ended on 30 June 2009 and I would like to take the opportunity to inform you on the new V.I.P. season and the latest developments at the Ramblers Club.

The winners during the last season were as follows:

The Ramblers Exco committee decided to change the modus operandi slightly with the start of the new season. The first three prizes will remain as in the last couple of years, i.e. the 1st prize is N$ 3.000, the 2nd prize is N$ 2.000 and the 3rd prize is N$ 1.000 and we will have six draws during the period July 2009 to June 2010. You don’t have to be present at the draw to claim the prize-money.

The first V.I.P. draw will take place in August or early September 2009, the exact date will still be advised to you.

The dates for the remaining five draws will be communicated to you via e-mail (Newsletter) or on our website www.ramblers.com.na

A further change is that we will revert back to one jackpot draw on Fridays. The second draw at 20h00 has not been a “crowd-puller” and thus the ExCo decided to have only one draw at 19h00. As the jackpots last Friday were N$ 200 and N$ 500 for the 19h00 and the 20h00 respectively, we start the new V.I.P. season this coming Friday (03 July) with N$ 700 for the draw at 19h00. If the prize is not claimed, the jackpot will increase by N$ 100 per draw per week. In order to claim these jackpots you (or your spouse) have to be on the Ramblers Club premises at that specific time.

The two main investments in the last 12 months were firstly the final payments for the two flood-light poles of our second field, the total costs being more than N$ 60.000. The second development was the up-grading of our main stand which is now a complete steel construction. It has to be mentioned that it would not be possible for these repairs and alterations without the generous donations and discounts of various individuals and companies involved.

The fee remains N$ 1.700 per number and entitles you and your spouse to free meals at the draws as well as hiring the lapa once during the season at no costs, subject to availability and if your date doesn’t coincide with a previous booking. Further bookings are possible and should be liased with the ExCo. The “cash bar” facility is in this instance still applicable, i.e. you have to make use of our bar facility.

The full amount of N$ 1.700 should be paid latest by 30 September 2009 and can be done by a deposit on the Ramblers Main Club account 041476220 with Standard Bank Main Branch (Branch Code: 08237200). Alternatively you can credit the account via electronic banking or phone Ralf at 081-1222347 AFTER HOURS to collect the cheque.

If you know of any other person(s) who would like to join the V.I.P. Club, we have currently No. 21, No. 42, No. 50, No. 52 and No.75 available. Currently we have the numbers 1 to 80 in the draw, but that doesn’t mean that we end there. Numbers 81 to 100 can be added to the draw and could mean additional prize money at the draws!

Please advise us in time if you do not attend to renew your membership. (We really do not hope so!)

Further news is that the Ramblers Soccer Academy (RSA) is hosting for the second time the annual youth tournament over the weekend 17 to 19 July 2009. The youngsters from Windhoek as well as the coast and Otjiwarongo will be in action on our two fields in the age groups under 7, under 9, under 11 and under 13.

The Fistball section has established them well in the FAN (Fistball Association of Namibia) and will host the third league round on Saturday 01 August on our main field.
