Dear members

V.I.P. CLUB

The 19h00 Jackpot is standing tonight at N$ 1.000-00 after Silke “No.7” Pennefather “failed” to pitch up last week to collect her N$ 900-00. The 2010/2011 season started now and the first draw is scheduled for Friday 06 August. New members are more than welcome. We attach a separate newsletter on the V.I.P. modus operandi.

OLD BOYS

Our Old Boys played on Wednesday the second match of this year’s Old Boys League and drew 2-all against OTB Sport. After trailing 0-1 at halftime, we turned the game around in the second half and took the lead by a brace through Kilian Kavari. OTB Sport managed to equalize in injury time.

YOUTH SOCCER / RAMBLERS SOCCER ACADEMY (RSA)

Seven of our teams participated last month at the annual tournament hosted by Otjiwarongo tournament. Our under 9 A won their section while the under 9 B and under 11 A came second in their respective sections. The under 13 of coach Uwe Wolff won the Dieter-Koepp Cup which has been played for the 44th time! This is the cup with the longest tradition in South West Africa / Namibia Youth soccer and has been played since 1966.

This weekend the RSA will host the annual tournament for under 7, under 9, under 11 and under 13 on our fields. We can just advise you that this is really something special to see these youngsters playing. The RSA will cater the whole day.

FISTBALL

The 4th league round took place last week and our first team experienced mix fortune, losing both their matches. The team remains second in their league and the play-offs are scheduled for the 18 September on the Ramblers field.

“NO SMOKING” RULE IN THE BAR

The “Anti Smoking” bill has been tabled and is not a law yet, but the Executive Committee decided on their monthly meeting last Monday to declare the bar/ club-house with immediate effect as a “No Smoking” area. This is surely in the interest of the majority of our members and we are counting on the co-operation of our few smokers, who now need to smoke outside.

ADMINISTRATOR

We have employed Cynthea Balzar as “Administrator” and she will hopefully take of the burden of the shoulders of the Executive Committee. Cynthea will be in charge of amongst others the administration duties and most importantly of all Lapa and Field bookings. She can be contacted via e-mail at info@ramblers.com.na or on her cell (081-2742538).
